ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Mark Pettit has been a professional artist for 30 years. While living in Austin, Texas, he was fortunate to study with several prominent and gifted artists who greatly influenced his direction. Mark went on to study at the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore, Maryland, a school devoted to the techniques of the 17th century Flemish masters. Mark has had great success with numerous one-man and group art shows and national recognition with many open and limited edition prints published by Windberg Enterprises and Somerset House. He has done numerous demonstrations for various art leagues and schools and his work is shown in several prestigious galleries throughout the country. The primary subject matter of Mark's oils is panoramic American landscape and Euoropean scenes. In the past several years, he has traveled extensively in Europe, spending many months painting the Tuscan countryside and the canals of Venice. He demonstrates a unique link between classic and modern painting which is also represented in his traditional still life paintings. Ridgway, Colorado has been Mark's home for the past 19 years. He continues to be inspired by the spectacular San Juan Mountains. More at: http://www.askart.com/askart/p/mark_pettit/mark_pettit.aspx Call WCA at (970) 318-0150 or Register |
