Richard was born and raised in Washington DC where he began taking photographs with his first camera in high school. Richard took a black and white photography course, his only formal training, while attending Plymouth State College in New Hampshire where he obtained a BS in Environmental Biology and a minor in art. In 1995 Richard left his job as a Paramedic Firefighter with the Concord Fire Department in Concord, NH, and traveled throughout Asia for 14 months. He worked as a whitewater rafting guide while there, and honed his skills as an adventure travel photographer. Richard has been traveling the world for over 15 years participating in adventures that allow him to bring back images with a truly unique perspective. Both the spectacular landscapes and people of the places Richard has traveled combine to form his striking and sensitive images. "I like images that include people. People are a natural part of any landscape and can give scale and perspective to an image" Exhibitions include Richard has also been featured in publications which include: Backpacker Magazine, Canoe and Kayak Magazine, National Geographic Adventure. June 11, 2008 The GO date is the date when, if the minimum number of students has registered, we know the class will be held. If the minimum number of students has not registered by the GO date, the class will be canceled. So be sure and register early to help ensure your class will be held. |

| Course Description |
How much fun can you have with your camera? While learning essential photographic skills such as camera handling and composition, you will see how much fun you can have with your camera. This workshop is for beginners and those who want to increase their knowledge of manual camera operation and still photo creation. Both digital and film cameras that can operate in manual exposure mode are welcome in this workshop. The course will include some classroom time, field sessions, and a critique of students work following lab processing of film The days will be broken out as follows: |

and receive a 10% discount on the price of the class. We must receive your registration and a 50% deposit by the GO date in order to know if the class will make. |

Supply list to be provided by students: 1. Students are responsible for bringing their
own camera, either film or digital with full manual control capability.
For digital camers, bring memory cards and connection cords for a computer
or card reader. For film cameras, bring a minimum of four rolls of print
film 3. Those students shooting film will be responsible for their own film and processing costs. Print film should be used and processed by one of the one-hour labs in Montrose so it is available for the critique on day two of the class 4. If available, bring your laptop computer with photo software installed (Photoshop, or Photoshop elements recommended) Supply list to be provided by instructor: 1. Camera and laptop computer for demonstration Note: There will be a materials fee of $5 payable to the instructor at the time of class.
